Every delivery day presents some set of challenges: dozens of routes, hundreds of stops, and customers who always expect instant answers.
A single phone call asking, “Where’s my package?” may lead to dispatchers digging through routes or even pinging the drivers just to find one detail. Multiply that by 20 calls in a morning, and you’ve already lost hours of productive time.
That’s exactly the gap the new Global Search feature in Zeo Route Planner closes. You don’t need to scroll across dashboards or pull up multiple tabs. Instead, you could simply type a customer name, invoice number, address, or tracking ID, and the right stop appears instantly.
As a fleet operating manager, you can be certain of quicker customer responses and better control. For drivers, this is the feature that saves time and the hassles of pausing the deliveries to answer dispatcher queries or resend proof of service. The search query can populate results that are easily visible to dispatch managers, allowing drivers to focus on completing tasks faster with fewer distractions.
As a business, you get a single source of truth where every delivery record, from timestamps and notes to customer details, remains one search away.
Accessing the Global Search Feature
When you log into your Zeo account, you will find a 🔍︎ right below the ‘Create Route’ feature (the one with the ‘+’ icon)
magnifying glass icon
Click on it, and you’ll access the ‘Global Search’ feature.
The Global Search has following parameters:
- Filter by
- Drivers
- Duration (or Date Range)
Let’s explore each parameter.
-
Filter By
The first parameter to apply global search is to use the filter by option. You can choose to filter on the basis of:
- Customer Name
- Stop Address
- Invoice No.
- Stop ID
- Notes
-
Drivers
Once you have chosen your primary filter, you can further narrow down your search by searching for deliveries based on the drivers.
Click on ‘Select Driver(s)’ option to select the drivers. You choose from one or multiple drivers, or even ‘Select All’ to view complete data.
This is useful when:
- You want to check all stops assigned to a specific driver.
- You’re auditing workloads and delivery performance driver by driver.
-
Duration (or Date Range)
You don’t have to manually check the past schedules or upcoming deliveries for details. Instead, you can choose to search across any timeline.
Click on the ‘Date’ option to choose a specific duration.

Get Started for FreeThe flexible calendar lets you select single days, rolling periods (like last 15 or 30 days), or custom date ranges so that you can:
- Track yesterday’s deliveries for quick customer updates
- Review last month’s stops for billing or audits.
- Plan by checking future routes already assigned
Each filter is tied to real operational data, so you can search across every route in your account and get results in seconds.
a. Customer Name:
Look up stops by the recipient’s name to quickly verify status or update them with accurate ETAs.
b. Stop Address:
Enter a street name or location to instantly bring up all related deliveries and pickups. Perfect when customers only recall their delivery address.
c. Invoice No.:
Connect stops directly to your backend systems by searching invoice IDs or numbers.
d. Stop ID:
This one is useful when fleet managers want to look up using stop IDs from their existing database to check driver’s performance or delivery status.
e. Notes:
If the driver has entered very specific notes like “urgent” or “customer not available” you can search for deliveries with such criteria.
Note: The search bar inputs are correlated with the filter type you choose. So, if you have set the filter to “Customer Name,” you have to enter the customer’s name only in the search bar.
If you enter an address or invoice number with ‘Customer Name’ filter applied, the system will show the warning message “No Match Found” at the bottom.
Additionally, you can refine the results further by selecting drivers and specifying date ranges.
That means you can narrow down the search to the right stop, in the right timeframe, with the right driver.
How the Search Results Appear
After you press the Search button, you’ll get the results as per all the parameters that you have set.
The result will display:
- Stop address with complete location details
- Customer information, such as name, phone, and email, so you can quickly reach out if needed
- Order details such as invoice number, stop ID, and status (yet to start, driver on route, completed, skipped, and failed)
- The driver that’s assigned for that particular customer
- Proof of service in terms of photos, signatures, or extra notes uploaded from the driver’s app
- Delivery note which is added by the store owner during route creation to share certain instructions with the driver.
- Service note which is added by the driver while adding the proof of service details (if any)
- Customer Note is the message a customer can send to the driver through the live location updates link. It is especially useful for sharing specific delivery instructions.
Note: Only the information entered during the delivery will show up. For example, if there are no notes, a customer signature, or pictures, the search may show up blank, as seen below.
Advanced Options in an Individual Search Result
Once you run a Global Search, each result you can see two things on the top right corner.
- View
- Advanced options accessible by clicking on the three dots (⋮)
View: Opens up Route in Playground
Clicking on View instantly opens the full route in Zeo’s Playground Section.
Here, dispatchers can see the stop in its real delivery context that provides details on driver assignments, route progress, and how it connects to the rest of the day’s plan.
There’s no need to switch between tabs or manually trace where the stop sits in the bigger picture.
Advanced Options: Edit Stop and Download Summary
Next to the View button, the three-dot menu (⋮) unlocks advanced options for each stop.
You can use this option to have more direct control over the stop-level details and reporting.
a. Edit Stop Details
The edit stop option is only available when the delivery status is ‘Yet to Start’ or ‘Driver on Route’. For other statuses, this option is not available. Use it to modify the stop details. You can adjust a particular stop date, delivery note, route start and end times, invoice number, and customer details: name, email, and mobile number.
b. Download summary
Export a complete stop summary in PDF format. Available across all 5 delivery statuses.
This becomes part of your delivery records, making audits and resolving customer issues faster.
Send Live Location
It enables you to send a text message directly to customer’s mobile number:
“Hi, your parcel is on its way. You may check the live location here: [link to track the package]”
This builds customer trust and eliminates the anxiety of not being able to track their order status in real-time.
Conclusion
Global Search in Zeo Route Planner brings every stop, order status, and driver detail under one roof.
Dispatchers may not need to shuffle through routes or spreadsheets. Instead, the Global Search option makes sure that everything they need is now one search away.
There are stop-level edits, shareable PDFs, and search options to help save time on order tracking.
