How to Using Places Autocomplete Feature

At Zeo, we use the same technology that powers address search in Google Maps for the address autocomplete feature.

The end result is that users get accurate, location-verified suggestions as they type, streamlining the process of adding stops to their routes quickly and efficiently. This spares you from manually entering the full addresses or stressing about errors.

To use the Places Autocomplete feature in Zeo Route Planner:

  • Begin by typing the location or address in the stop entry field within the app or web dashboard.
  • Enter address text to let Zeo display suggested address matches based on what’s most relevant to your input.
  • Choose the address based on locations, neighborhoods, and pin codes in the address bar scroller.

You can use it for:

  • Adding new stops by simply typing the initial address. Then, choose the correct option from the list of suggestions.
  • Avoiding manual address entry errors so that all locations are valid and correctly formatted.
  • Speeding up route planning by reducing the time spent on address searches.
  • Saving frequently visited addresses with custom nicknames for faster access.

Zeo’s Place Autocomplete feature offers advantages like:

  1. Instant address suggestions
This one minimizes typos and invalid entries. As users type, Zeo dynamically surfaces location matches based on real-world data, reducing the chances of human error and significantly speeding up the route-building process.
  2. No technical configuration
Yes, you don’t need to make any configurations. Everything’s pre-built. There’s no need to manage API keys, monitor quotas, or embed custom scripts. Everything works directly from the dashboard, with autocomplete fully operational from day one.
  3. Address nicknames
Add nicknames for commonly visited locations (like “Warehouse A” or “Client HQ”) and speed up future planning. Users can save frequently used addresses with custom labels, making rerouting or repetitive scheduling much faster and more organized.
  4. Live editing
It supports real-time address typing to add them during or after creating the route. Whether a delivery changes mid-route or an urgent pickup is added, Zeo lets users edit routes in real time without reloading or re-optimizing the entire sequence.

This functionality is handy for businesses managing active routes that may shift based on receiver’s availability and delivery volumes. It reduces dependency on dispatchers to “pre-plan” everything perfectly—drivers can input stops confidently on the go.
