This new feature is exclusive to Zeo Route Planner!

Before this feature Zeo allowed you to set any stop as a pickup or delivery only. If the user wanted to deliver the pickup parcel to some other location they had to add the delivery stop individually.

This exclusive Zeo feature provides the user an option to link the deliveries to its corresponding pickups. As soon as the delivery stop is linked to the pickup it will be added to the new optimized route and the user will also be able to see which pickup parcel is to be delivered to which address. Thus, making it easier to complete the deliveries effectively and saving time.

This feature has become increasingly important in 2026 as businesses handle more complex delivery scenarios, from e-commerce fulfillment to specialized service deliveries. Whether you’re managing multiple delivery runs for auto parts distribution or coordinating pickups for service operations, linked deliveries streamline your entire workflow.

Let’s watch how it is impacting our customers life:

If a user wants to pick up a parcel from Hampton and he has to deliver it to 2 different places, Richmond and Harlington. The user will set Hampton as pickup and then using the new feature, linked deliveries, he will link the delivery stops Richmond and Harlington to Hampton. Then he will get an updated route which will include all the stops he has added. Now while navigating through them he will be able to see all the stops (Richmond and Harlington) which are linked to Hampton making it easier for him to keep a track of all the pickups parcels and where it has to be delivered at the same time.

This functionality is particularly valuable for businesses that need to maintain clear chains of custody for their deliveries. For instance, auto parts distributors can easily track which specific parts from a warehouse pickup need to go to which repair shops, ensuring accuracy and reducing delivery errors. The visual connection between pickups and their linked deliveries eliminates confusion and helps drivers stay organized throughout their routes.

Key Benefits of Pickup Linked Deliveries

The pickup linked deliveries feature offers several advantages that make it indispensable for modern logistics operations:

  • Enhanced Tracking: Maintain clear visibility of which items from each pickup location need to be delivered to specific destinations
  • Improved Accuracy: Reduce delivery errors by clearly associating pickup items with their intended recipients
  • Time Savings: Eliminate the need to manually cross-reference pickup and delivery information during route execution
  • Better Customer Service: Provide accurate delivery estimates and updates by understanding the complete pickup-to-delivery chain
  • Simplified Route Planning: Automatically optimize routes considering the logical sequence of pickups and their associated deliveries

These benefits are especially crucial for businesses operating in competitive markets where efficiency directly impacts profitability. Companies using this feature often report significant improvements in their operational effectiveness, similar to the results seen when implementing strategies to reduce auto parts delivery times.

Group by Location: Where possible, link deliveries that are geographically close to each other to the same pickup point. This approach works similarly to the principles used in dispatch system software optimization.

Maintain Detailed Records: Use the customer details and parcel count fields consistently. This information becomes invaluable for tracking performance and resolving any delivery issues that may arise.

Regular Route Updates: If pickup quantities or delivery destinations change during the day, update your linked deliveries immediately to maintain route accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I link multiple deliveries to a single pickup location?

Yes, you can link as many delivery stops as needed to a single pickup location. This is particularly useful when picking up multiple items from a warehouse or distribution center that need to go to different customers.

What happens if I need to add an urgent delivery after my route is optimized?

You can easily add new linked deliveries to existing pickup stops by editing your route. Select the pickup stop, go to “Linked Delivery Stops,” add the new address, mark it as “ASAP” if urgent, and update your route to get a new optimized sequence.

Can I see all linked deliveries for a pickup stop while I’m driving?

Absolutely. When you arrive at a pickup location, you can view all the linked delivery stops associated with that pickup. This helps you verify you’re collecting the correct items and understand where each needs to be delivered.

Is there a limit to how many pickups and linked deliveries I can have in one route?

Zeo Route Planner supports extensive route planning capabilities. While there’s no strict limit on linked deliveries, the optimal number depends on your vehicle capacity, time constraints, and delivery requirements. The system will optimize based on your specific parameters.

Can I use pickup linked deliveries for recurring routes?

Yes, once you’ve set up a route with pickup linked deliveries, you can save it as a template for future use. This is especially beneficial for businesses with regular pickup and delivery patterns, allowing you to quickly recreate optimized routes with established pickup-delivery relationships.
