Zeo Route Planner provides various settings that the drivers or the delivery partner require while they are out in the field for delivery. We understand that the drivers should also have some features that they can use to ease delivery and improve their operational efficiency in today’s competitive delivery landscape.
Whether you’re managing HVAC service calls, handling pest control routes, or coordinating electrician services, these driver settings are designed to provide maximum flexibility and control while on the road.
Let’s look into a few of such settings/features that are tailored for drivers and how they can significantly impact your daily operations.
Add/Delete new stops on the go
While delivering the drivers can add or delete the stops, let’s see how to do that. This feature is particularly valuable when last-minute changes occur, such as emergency service calls or customer cancellations that are common in field service operations.
Adding new stops
Adding stops dynamically during your route is essential for handling unexpected service requests or accommodating urgent customer needs. This flexibility ensures you never miss a business opportunity while maintaining efficient route execution.
- Navigate to the “On Ride” section, and you can see all the routes entered. If there are no routes, then you can create your routes.
- You can see a “+” button. Click on the button, and you will see a list of options.
- Click on the “Edit Route” and then click on the “+Add” button.

- In the search box, type the address you want, and then click on the “Done” button. The system will automatically validate the address and provide suggestions if needed.
- Then click on the “Update Route” button, and the route will be updated with optimal positioning of the new stop to minimize additional travel time.

Deleting stops on the go
Suppose one needs to delete the stop while delivering the products; let’s see how one can delete the stops. This functionality is crucial when customers cancel appointments last minute or when stops become inaccessible due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Navigate to the “On Ride” section, and you can see all the routes that have been entered. If there are no routes, then you can create your routes.
- You can see a “+” button. Click on the button and you will see a list of options.

- Click on the “Edit Route” button, and you will see a list of routes you have created.
- Click on the dots in front of the route which you want to delete.
- You will get the option “Delete.”
- After the option, click on the “Update Route” to finalize the changes. The system will automatically recalculate the optimal path for your remaining stops.

Skip stops and re-arrange routes
A driver can skip a stop if the customer is not available, and it helps the driver keep their work on with the delivery of other customers; let’s see how you can do that. This feature is particularly valuable during peak service hours when maintaining momentum is crucial for daily productivity.
The skip functionality ensures that temporary obstacles don’t derail your entire schedule, allowing you to maintain service quality for other customers while keeping options open to return to skipped locations later in the day.
- Go on to the “On Ride” tab, and there you can see a “Skip” button just before the “Navigation” button. By pressing the button, the stop will be skipped, but it will not be completed, preserving it for potential revisit.

- To see the skipped stop, press on the “Show” button, and from there, you can perform the required action for the skipped stop. This allows you to easily track and manage skipped appointments for follow-up actions.

- Re-arrange the route, press on the “+” button, and press the “Re-Arrange Route” button.
- Then you can rearrange the route and press the “Save and Re-Route” button to save the changes. This dynamic reordering helps optimize your remaining stops based on current conditions and priorities.

Applying the navigate as entered setting
It often happens that drivers want to proceed the way they think will be best or according to the list of addresses from the office. For that case, Zeo Route provides the “Navigate as Entered” feature, which navigates you according to the addresses’ list as they are entered in the app.
This setting is particularly useful when drivers have specific knowledge about traffic patterns, customer preferences, or route conditions that might not be reflected in standard optimization algorithms. However, it’s important to understand when to use this feature strategically.

Follow these simple steps to apply the navigate as entered setting:
- You can check the “Navigate as Entered” checkbox while you are adding the stops. This will start the navigation in the way you have entered.
- If you are on the “On Ride” section then press on the “+” button and a list of details will be displayed.

- After that, press on the “Navigate as Entered” option, and the navigation will be provided in the order in which you have entered.
- Please note here that this option will not provide the optimized routes, which is not recommended for maximum efficiency. Use this setting judiciously when your local knowledge provides clear advantages over algorithmic optimization.

Increase/Decrease the size of the map on the travel page
You can also increase or decrease the size of the map on the travel page. Zeo Route provides a straightforward option to increase or decrease the map size; let’s see how this process can be done. This feature is especially helpful when you need detailed visibility of your route or want to focus more on the delivery information panel.
Map size adjustment can significantly improve driver experience, particularly in different lighting conditions or when dealing with complex urban navigation scenarios. A larger map view can help identify landmarks and street details more clearly, while a smaller view provides more space for delivery notes and customer information.
- Navigate to the “On Ride” section, and you will see a map.
- At the bottom right of the map screen, you will see a square box.

- Press on the square box to increase the size of the map to full screen, providing maximum visibility for navigation.
- If pressed again, then it will decrease the size of the map, returning to the standard balanced view.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add multiple stops at once while on a route?
Yes, you can add multiple stops during your route. Simply repeat the add stop process for each new location. The system will automatically optimize the placement of new stops within your existing route to minimize additional travel time. However, for the best efficiency, it’s recommended to add stops one at a time and allow the system to recalculate before adding the next one.
What happens to skipped stops at the end of the day?
Skipped stops remain in your system and can be easily accessed through the “Show” button in your skipped stops section. You can choose to revisit them later in the day, reschedule them for another day, or mark them as completed if the service was provided through alternative means. Skipped stops are automatically logged for reporting and follow-up purposes.
Will deleting a stop during my route affect the optimization of my remaining stops?
Absolutely. When you delete a stop, Zeo Route Planner automatically recalculates the optimal route for your remaining destinations. This ensures you maintain the most efficient path possible even after removing locations from your original route. The system takes into account current traffic conditions and your location when reoptimizing.
When should I use the “Navigate as Entered” setting instead of optimized routing?
Use “Navigate as Entered” when you have specific local knowledge that provides advantages over algorithmic optimization, such as knowing about temporary road conditions, customer preferences for specific time slots, or when following a predetermined sequence is required by company policy. However, keep in mind this setting typically results in longer travel times and higher fuel costs compared to optimized routing.
Does changing map size affect battery life or app performance?
Map size changes have minimal impact on battery life or app performance. The full-screen map mode uses the same underlying mapping technology; it simply adjusts the display area. However, keeping the screen on full brightness with a larger map view for extended periods may consume more battery, so consider adjusting screen brightness based on lighting conditions and your device’s battery level.
