What is FIFO?
FIFO (First In First Out) is an inventory valuation method used for accounting that assumes that the stock that is produced first is also sold first. In other words, the stock that comes into the warehouse first is shipped out first. It is used to calculate the value of the inventory which impacts the balance sheet at the end of the fiscal year. Also, check out the LIFO method which is contrary to FIFO.
