Get Direction within Zeo?

We know its a pain to optimize your route in one application and navigating through a completely different one. There is no info along the map about your stop and more often than not you end up wasting quite a lot of time just switching between these two.

Whether you’re managing pool service routes, handling auto parts deliveries, or running home inspection schedules, the constant switching between route planning and navigation apps disrupts your workflow and costs valuable time. This fragmented experience has been a major pain point for field service professionals across all industries.

At zeo, we’ve been working hard to find a solution for our iOS users to make the experience more seamless and faster. After almost a month of experimentation,

Introducing In-app navigation!

Now get directions to your destination without ever having to leave the Zeo app. Add your stops, create a route and start navigating to the first stop. A full screen map will open up along with all your stop details where you get turn-by-turn directions and you can plan your route better. Navigate easily and make changes to the stop, contact the customer or share your live location, all in a single screen.

This integrated approach eliminates the friction that mobile field workers face daily. Instead of juggling multiple apps, you can now manage your entire workflow from route optimization to customer communication within a single interface. The in-app navigation maintains context about your stops, customer information, and route priorities while providing reliable turn-by-turn directions.

The full-screen navigation experience is designed specifically for field professionals who need quick access to critical information while driving. You can see upcoming stops, estimated arrival times, and customer details without losing your navigation context. This streamlined approach helps reduce errors, saves time, and improves overall productivity throughout your workday.

Key Benefits of In-App Navigation

The integrated navigation system offers several advantages over using separate apps:

Seamless Workflow: No more switching between apps means fewer distractions and a smoother user experience. Your optimized routes remain visible alongside navigation instructions, helping you maintain awareness of your entire schedule.

Real-time Updates: Make instant adjustments to your route without leaving the navigation screen. If a customer cancels or reschedules, you can modify your route on the fly and continue navigation without interruption.

Enhanced Customer Service: Access customer contact information, service notes, and location details directly from the navigation interface. This immediate access helps you prepare for each stop and handle customer communications more effectively.

Live Location Sharing: Keep customers informed about your arrival time by sharing your live location directly from the navigation screen. This transparency improves customer satisfaction and reduces missed appointments.

Stop Management: Mark stops as complete, add notes, or update service information without exiting navigation mode. This real-time data capture ensures accurate record-keeping and improves service documentation.

Once enabled, you’ll see navigation options appear when you start your route. Simply tap “Navigate” next to your first stop, and the full-screen navigation interface will launch. The system will automatically guide you through each stop in your optimized sequence, making it easy to complete your entire route efficiently.

The setup process is straightforward and only needs to be done once. After enabling in-app navigation, all your future routes will have this functionality available. You can always switch back to external navigation apps if needed, giving you flexibility in how you manage your routes.

Perfect for Field Service Professionals

This in-app navigation feature is particularly valuable for field service professionals who manage multiple stops throughout their day. Whether you’re servicing equipment, making deliveries, or conducting inspections, having all your tools in one place significantly improves efficiency.

The integration becomes especially powerful when combined with Zeo’s route optimization capabilities. Your routes are already optimized for the shortest travel time and distance, and now you can navigate those optimized routes without any external dependencies. This end-to-end solution eliminates common workflow disruptions that can add hours to your workday.

Field teams report significant improvements in their daily productivity when using integrated navigation systems. The reduction in app switching, combined with better access to customer information and route context, helps teams complete more stops per day with less stress and confusion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is in-app navigation available for Android devices?

Currently, in-app navigation is only available for iOS users. We’re working on bringing this feature to Android devices in the near future. Android users can continue to use external navigation apps through Zeo’s existing integration options.

Does in-app navigation work offline?

The in-app navigation requires an internet connection for turn-by-turn directions and real-time traffic updates. However, your route information and stop details remain accessible even with limited connectivity. We recommend ensuring you have adequate data coverage for the best navigation experience.

Can I still use my preferred navigation app instead?

Absolutely! The in-app navigation feature is optional. You can enable or disable it at any time through the navigation preferences. When disabled, Zeo will continue to work with external navigation apps like Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze as it did before.

Will in-app navigation drain my phone battery faster?

In-app navigation uses similar resources to other navigation apps. The battery usage is comparable to using separate route planning and navigation apps, but since you’re only running one app instead of switching between multiple apps, the overall impact may actually be lower.

Can I customize the navigation interface?

The navigation interface is designed for optimal visibility and ease of use while driving. While extensive customization options aren’t currently available, the interface automatically adjusts for different screen sizes and orientations. We’re continuously gathering user feedback to improve the navigation experience.
